Rehearsals

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at the Methodist Church, High Street, Haddenham HP17 8ES between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm with a short break for refreshments mid-evening. Click here for a map of the area.
A soft (3B or 4B) pencil is essential for marking up your score.

Please remember that the time we spend at rehearsals is precious.
Reading through the score during the week will help us to learn the notes and avoid making the same mistakes the following week.
Also, please make sure you are in your seat, ready to begin, by 7.30 pm and try to keep the refreshment break as short as possible.

Finally, before you leave please help to stack the chairs (no more than four high),
fold up and store the tables and bring down any equipment used for rehearsing
in the upstairs room.

Men: at the end of split rehearsals, please help to bring downstairs the keyboard and associated equipment.

2018 Annual General Meeting

The AGM was held at the Methodist Church, Haddenham on 26 September 2018. At the AGM  Judith Newenham and Liz Hammond stood down as Chair and Secretary respectively after very many years of tirelessly working to support and promote the Society and a fitting tribute was made at the meeting.

At the meeting Vicki Edwards was elected as Chairman and Mark Bond as Vice-Chairman to share between them most of the functions undertaken by Judith and Liz and, later, Ruth Harman was co-opted onto the Committee, primarily with responsibility for taking and distributing the Minutes at Committee meetings.

You can download a full transcript of the AGM Minutes
here.

Parking Arrangements

HADDENHAM
The parking  near Haddenham Methodist Church in the High Street is very limited. However, we have generously been allowed to use the car park at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday evenings during our rehearsals. The Church is at the corner of Crabtree Road and The Croft (see the link under Rehearsals on this page for a map. Churches are marked PW on the map).

Please use this location to park whenever possible and leave the High Street parking for those bringing bulky items to the rehearsals. If you park in the High Street, please make sure that you don't block a driveway.

THAME
Parking is limited in Church Road but you can park in Priestend where there are steps up to St Mary's churchyard and footpaths to the main door of the Church. A torch is useful at night!

There are also free parking spaces along the High Street, near Cornmarket and off the Upper High Street, but check if a time limit is in force.

Refreshment Rota

The rota for Autumn 2019 will be available here during September.
